Recurring Issues

Common problems reported by multiple verified buyers

Slower AC Charging vs Competition

57 mentions

AC wall charging maxes out at 800W on the 1000 Plus, making full charges take 1.7-2 hours. EcoFlow's Delta 2 Max charges to 80% in 50 minutes. For emergency prep where quick recharging matters, this is a notable gap.

App Quality Gap

43 mentions

The Jackery app is functional but feels less refined than EcoFlow's offering — slower to connect, fewer monitoring features, and less intuitive layout. Many users only use it occasionally.

No Pass-Through Charging

29 mentions

The Explorer 1000 Plus cannot be used as a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) while connected to wall power — it must be fully charged before providing output. This limits its use as a seamless power backup device.

Perfect camping power — wheel design is a game-changer

Verified
By Sandra K.Owned 8 monthsintermediate user2025-11-10

Pros

  • +Wheel trolley means I move it alone easily
  • +2000Wh handles a whole camping weekend comfortably
  • +LiFePO4 gives confidence in decade-long lifespan

Cons

  • -AC charging is slow compared to EcoFlow
  • -App isn't great but I rarely use it

I camp at least 15 times a year and the Explorer 1000 Plus has been with me on every trip since I bought it. The wheel trolley design is what sold me over the competition — I can wheel it from my car to the campsite alone without straining my back. The 2000Wh gets me through a full weekend powering my fridge, a CPAP, phone and tablet charging, and lights with capacity to spare. My only complaint is that it charges slowly on AC — takes 1.7 hours for a full charge when EcoFlow can do it faster. But for camping use where I charge the night before, this doesn't matter.

Reliable but EcoFlow charges faster and has more features

Verified
By Brian W.Owned 6 monthsexpert user2025-12-31

Pros

  • +4000-cycle LiFePO4 is best-in-class longevity
  • +Quieter fan than Delta 2 Max
  • +Jackery brand reliability reputation is deserved

Cons

  • -800W AC charging is a bottleneck
  • -No UPS functionality

I own both this and the EcoFlow Delta 2 Max for a backup system comparison. The Jackery is quieter under load, has a more ergonomic transport design, and the 4000-cycle battery rating is exceptional. But EcoFlow wins on fast charging (50 mins to 80% vs Jackery's 1.7 hours), more powerful AC output, and better app integration. For camping and transport use, I prefer the Jackery. For home emergency backup where charging speed matters, EcoFlow is better. Both are excellent products from reliable brands with strong support.

Powered our food truck during a generator failure

Verified
By Angela C.Owned 4 monthsintermediate user2026-01-14

Pros

  • +Saved our food truck operation when generator failed mid-event
  • +Powered our blenders and POS for 3 hours
  • +Easy to recharge at next available outlet

Cons

  • -Heavier than I expected even with the wheels
  • -Price is significant for emergency-only use

I run a smoothie food truck and our generator failed in the middle of a festival event. We pulled out the Jackery 1000 Plus from backup storage and it ran our two commercial blenders, the POS tablet, and lighting for three hours until we could get the generator serviced. That one event paid for the entire power station. The 2000W output handled the blender motor startup spikes without a problem. I now carry it to every event as insurance. The wheel design means one person can handle it, which is essential when your crew is busy running the truck.
