Recurring Issues

Common problems reported by multiple verified buyers

Uneven Heat Distribution

61 mentions

Multiple reviewers report that food cooks faster near the heating element than at the bottom corners. Shaking or flipping food halfway through cooking significantly improves results but adds inconvenience.

Coating Durability

54 mentions

The non-stick coating on the basket shows wear faster than premium alternatives. At this price point it's expected, but buyers planning daily use should budget for a replacement basket or new unit within 12-18 months.

Loud Fan Operation

38 mentions

The cooling fan is measurably louder than competing models in the $100-$150 range. Not a dealbreaker but can be disruptive in quiet kitchens or open-plan living areas during evening cooking.

Does exactly what you'd expect for $65 — no more, no less

Pros

  • +Great value for size
  • +Easy to use for anyone
  • +Divided basket is genuinely useful

Cons

  • -Need to shake halfway for even cooking
  • -Fan is loud

I bought this as my first air fryer and it's a perfect introduction. It makes crispy fries, good chicken wings, and reheats leftovers beautifully. Yes you have to shake it halfway through for even results, but that's 5 seconds of effort. The divided basket is great for cooking my boyfriend's plain chicken alongside my seasoned veggies at the same time. For $65, I genuinely can't find anything to complain about at this price.

Buy it to try air frying, then upgrade

Pros

  • +Cheap entry point
  • +Large capacity
  • +Still working after a year

Cons

  • -Coating showing wear
  • -Uneven cooking requires attention
  • -Fan noise gets old

After a year of almost daily use, I can say this: it works, the coating is starting to go, and the results are clearly not as consistent as the COSORI Dual Blaze I just bought as a replacement. But for a year of learning to love air frying, it was the right purchase. I now know what I want from an air fryer, which is exactly what a $65 unit should teach you. The divided basket was my favorite feature and I specifically bought a replacement with that capability.

Coating failed after 7 months — expecting more at $70

Declared
By Karen J.Owned 7 monthsbeginner user2025-11-14

Pros

  • +Was good while it lasted
  • +Easy to use

Cons

  • -Non-stick peeling at 7 months
  • -Wasn't using metal utensils either
  • -Chefman support unhelpful

The machine itself still works fine. But at 7 months the non-stick coating on the basket started peeling, and I was careful — always used silicone tongs. Contacted Chefman support and was told the warranty on the non-stick is 1 year but they needed a receipt which I'd misplaced from the gift purchase. Ended up buying a replacement basket insert for $18. The cooking was never spectacular — always needed shaking for even results. I'd spend $30-40 more for a COSORI next time.
