The coffee quality is legitimately as good as our local specialty café. The maintenance is real — don't ignore it — but it becomes routine quickly.

The coffee this machine makes is genuinely remarkable. My morning flat white rivals anything from a specialty café. The app lets me create custom drink profiles that is a genuinely useful feature. I knocked one star off for the maintenance reality: cleaning the milk system after every latte takes about 2-3 minutes and is non-negotiable. If you don't keep up with it, the milk line develops an unpleasant smell. It took me two weeks to find the right grind setting for my preferred beans. Worth it, but go in with eyes open.

The coffee is amazing — I won't dispute that. But I only drink one espresso a day and I ended up spending 8 minutes maintaining this machine for every 3-minute espresso. I didn't realize how much daily upkeep a super-automatic machine requires. I've now got a Breville Bambino Plus as well and honestly use that more often despite the skill gap. If you're a high-volume multi-drink household, the E8 makes total sense. For a single espresso drinker, this is overkill and I'd go back in time and buy differently.
